It makes some of the kids that aren't the strongest readers WANT to read. A lot of the stories we read appeal to one level more than another and this appeals to all the levels in my room.

I liked that they got more than one lesson out of the book. When I asked what lesson they thought the book taught, the first boy I called on said, "It taught that no matter how bad your day is going, things will get better." That's a HUGE lesson, and a bonus take away from this story!
